MINIPOD

The minipod project was an execution of a mini capsule teahouse using CNC plywood construction. The minipod is mobile with concealed casters and small and light enough to fit in a moving truck. Custom versions are available as an open form, or enclosed with glass or wood slats. Cushions for sleeping and seating can be fitted for comfort. The sculptural form and cozy size makes for an ideal pod by the pool, in the yard, on a roof, or as an indoor bed.

The best of 21st century automotive, aeronautic, nautical, and RV technologies are utilized to create a simply assembled fully functioning high tech mini capsule for living.Versatile, collapsable, lightweight, and nomadic. Mongolian Ger + 21st Century technology = Lifepod

Mimicking terrestrial mammals, the structural system is a quadrupedal fuselage.

This allows for foundation-less "footings" that can adjust to the contours of the natural landscape. The house adjusts to the land. The land need not be disfigured for the house.

TUMBLE

Video viewing pod commissioned by Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, California for "Underplayed". Tumble is an execution of the on-going lifepod capsule concept custom designed for viewing video art works. The collapsible modular structure will travel to other art exhibition venues "tumbled" into different positions allowing for a variety of viewing positions and experiences.

Dupli.Casa

The geometry of the Dupli.Casa is based on the footprint of the house that previously was located on the site.
Lifted up, it creates a semi-public space on ground level between two layers of discretion. The spatial configuration of the villa performs a sophisticated connection between inside and outside and offers spectacular views

Architecture of a single material taken from the earth, shaped for it acquires a resistant capacity that is in the geometry of the form, not in the material, economy. A single material, a single form that covers everything, roof, interior space, exterior image, structure. Architecture in which everything is necessary. Build only with white concrete that rises to become a sheet, structure whose stability is due to the form, and which folds on itself to cover the whole programme.
